Tent printing methods include screen printing, heat transfer printing, and digital printing.

Screen Printing

Screen printing involves applying ink onto fabric panels after cutting the material into pieces. A design is first transferred to film, then developed into a screen printing plate using photosensitive plate-making techniques. Printing utilizes the principle that ink passes through the mesh openings in the image areas of the screen, while non-image areas block ink flow. During printing, ink is poured onto one end of the screen. A squeegee applies pressure to the inked areas while moving at a constant speed toward the opposite end. As it moves, the squeegee forces ink through the mesh openings of the image areas onto the tent fabric piece.

Tent printing supports both single-color and multi-color printing. Higher color counts and larger patterns increase printing costs. Precise positioning is essential before printing to ensure designs appear in aesthetically optimal locations. Currently, screen printing remains the predominant method for tent printing.
